St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity supports people away from homelessness through the Vicar’s Relief Fund, the Frontline Network and The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields.

From a rich history of supporting individuals in vulnerable situations, we have developed a wide range of support. We are best known for our BBC Radio 4 Christmas Appeal with St Martin-in-the-Fields. For over 90 years the BBC and St Martin-in-the-Fields have partnered to raise support from Radio 4 listeners to help homeless and vulnerably housed people. In the last two years the Appeal has raised over £5 million.

Vicar’s Relief Fund

Our Vicar’s Relief Fund provides small crisis grants to prevent eviction, pay for rent arrears or secure stable accommodation for someone experiencing, or at risk of homelessness. These grants support people wherever they are in the UK and are awarded in a matter of days.

St Martin’s Frontline Network

Our Frontline Network, established in 2016, provides funding, community and resources to support frontline staff working with people experiencing homelessness. This includes staff working in the voluntary, statutory and public sectors across the UK. The Network works nationally and locally, hosting free events and training to regularly bring together frontline workers; providing further opportunity for people to share best practice and develop solutions to common barriers and better support people experiencing homelessness together.

The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields

We fund The Connection at St Martin in the Fields, a day and night centre providing a range of support services to people experiencing homelessness in Westminster, the densest area of rough sleeping in the country. Each year, The Connection engages thousands of people to address the causes of homelessness and promote a move on to life away from the streets.
