The 2020 BBC Radio 4 Christmas Appeal with St Martin-in-the-Fields launched on the 6th of December 2020. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, who raised the record-breaking figure of £4.4 million, we will be able to continue supporting people experiencing homelessness.

For over 90 years BBC Radio 4 listeners have supported the work of St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square, generously giving over £7,000,000 in the last two years.

This year has been a particularly difficult one. Throughout 2020, the people that rely on our services have remained at the centre of all our decisions, and ensuring we support them continues to be our number one priority. Because of the generous support of donors to the Christmas Appeal, people like Sean were able to find support through the Covid-19 crisis, and over 8,000 people like Austin received a vital grant from the Vicar’s Relief Fund (VRF) in 2019/20.

This year, our Appeal theme was The Key to Home. As the pandemic leaves many vulnerable and facing huge uncertainty, we are working hard to help people put down deposits, secure safe housing, and find the key to a home of their own. Whether that comes through a grant from the VRF, or a hot meal and advice at The Connection, we needed your support more than ever before. Our work is only possible thanks to the generosity of our donors. As ever, we are very grateful for all your support.

In a very challenging year, our donors showed amazing generosity and helped us raise £4.4 million. This will enable us to continue supporting people away from homelessness through our Vicars Relief Fund and the Connection at St Martin’s. Thank you.
