Eva* was just about to move out of a temporary accommodation and into her new home, when she took ill. She had to stay in hospital for over 3 months, as a result of multiple conditions which resulted in a major surgery before eventually recovering.
When she was ready to be discharged from the hospital admission, her new flat was waiting for her, but did not have some necessary household items. It turned out not to be so positive as she was brought straight back to hospital by her Medical Team after viewing her flat.
They assessed that the lack of some furniture and white goods would derail her speedy recovery, so decided to keep her in the hospital until those essential items were secured. Furnishing the flat hence, became an urgent matter, in light of Eva’s medical condition.
Luckily, Eva’s Tenancy Coach, Ify, was able to help. She applied for a grant from the Vicar’s Relief Fund to contribute toward buying the basic essentials needed to make Eva’s flat a home.
Eva has since moved into her flat. It is now furnished with everything she needs to make it a home – giving her a comfortable place to get on with her recovery.
